Who can apply

We list Fijian women who run their own independent childcare services. We don't employ you — we connect you with families who need a Meimei during their Fiji holiday. You set your own rates and keep 100% of what you earn.

A current Fiji Police Clearance Certificate, dated within the last 12 months.

Current First Aid certificate including paediatric resuscitation.

How the application works

Three steps. Most applications complete within a week. We verify carefully because families trust us with their children — and that trust matters more than speed.

Submit the application below

Tell us who you are, where you work, and a little about your experience. This step takes 5 minutes. You don't upload documents here — they come in step 2.

Send documents on WhatsApp

After you submit, we'll send you a WhatsApp message confirming we've received your application. Reply to that message with the following documents:

Documents to send via WhatsApp

  1. Fiji Police Clearance Certificate Photo or scan. Must be dated within the last 12 months.
  2. First Aid certificate Photo or scan. Current and showing expiry date.
  3. Photo ID National ID, driver licence, or passport — just to verify the police clearance matches you.
  4. Public liability insurance proof Photo or scan of your current policy. We'll verify coverage and dates.
  5. Two references — names and phone numbers From past childcare or hospitality work. We will call them.
  6. A profile photo of yourself Clear, well-lit headshot. We'll use this on your profile page.
  7. A 200-300 word bio in your own words Tell families about yourself — your style, what you enjoy, your background. Write it the way you'd talk.

We treat your documents confidentially. Only the Fiji Meimei Care team sees them. We don't share them with anyone, including the families who'll later book you. Once verified, we delete the documents we don't need to keep on file.

We verify and meet you

Within 5 business days we'll:

  • Verify your police clearance, qualifications, and insurance
  • Call both your references
  • Arrange an in-person meeting (or video call if you're remote)
  • Walk you through our Standards Agreement and sign it together
  • Approve your listing and publish your profile

If something isn't quite ready (an expired First Aid certificate, missing references, etc.), we'll tell you exactly what's needed so you can complete it.

Common questions

Does it cost anything to be listed?⌄
No. We don't charge Meimei to be listed, and we don't take a commission on any booking. The directory is free to join, and you keep 100% of what you earn from families who find you here.
How long does the verification process take?⌄
Usually 5 business days from the time you send all your documents. If your references are hard to reach, or you're missing a document, it can take longer. We'll keep you updated.
What if I don't have all my documents ready yet?⌄
Apply anyway. We'll review what you have and tell you exactly what's needed. Some Meimei start the application while still organising their police clearance or First Aid renewal — we'll wait, and we'll let you know which documents take priority.
Do I have to be available all the time?⌄
No. You set your own availability and your own rates. When a family messages you on WhatsApp, you decide whether to accept the booking. If you're busy, full, or on a break, just say so — there's no penalty.
What happens if a family I never met books me through this site?⌄
That's the whole point. Families browse profiles, choose a Meimei whose experience matches their needs, and message you directly on WhatsApp. You discuss dates, rates, your usual conditions — same as any family who'd contact you through a personal referral. Once you agree, the booking is between you and them.
What if I have a problem with a family I've booked?⌄
Contact us. We'll help where we can. We may be able to mediate, offer advice from experience, or in serious cases support you in declining future work from the same person. We don't sit in the middle of bookings, but we're not absent — we're here when our Meimei need us.
How do you keep my documents safe?⌄
Documents come to us via WhatsApp (which is end-to-end encrypted between you and us). Only the Fiji Meimei Care team sees them. We don't upload them to any website, don't share them with families, and we delete documents we don't need to keep on file after verification.
Can I remove my profile later?⌄
Yes, at any time. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll take your profile down within 24 hours. No notice period, no questions asked.
